Homeless dogs are homeless because their parents were not spayed and neutered and their "breeder" does not take responsibility for them.  Don't expect to adopt or "get" an intact dog from a rescue individual or animal shelter.  Want to know more? Go to: http://www.petpopulation.orgFor larger view of dogs photos -click  - be sure to "refresh" your view if you have been here before and don't see new dogs.

Pet Photo

Edward (Eddie) was found as a stray near Lake Travis/Bee Creek. He's adorable and he acts ALL heeler. He is less than a year old now and he is hungry for experience. He calms easily, but he is young and full of vim and vigor. Eddie will need to go with someone who is active or a family with kids who will play with him and run and challenge him. He is gentle with everyone. He is very curious and loves to play ball. Eddie is an exceptionally bright dog and has all of his shots up to date.

He gets along great with other dogs and is always up for a game of "Romp ' n Run." He *loves* to play with other dogs, and he is wise enough to respond appropriately to their cues. He has been great around dog-wise kids, never jumping on them, just always waiting for the next game of ball. He does OK with cats as long as they don't run from him. (Did we remember to tell you, he loves to run??)

IN NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS:  TaraCa.jpeg (29265 bytes)      red_canton_5653[1].JPG (25081 bytes)

This is Red Dog who was pulled from the Canton, TX shelter.

...He was a stray at some people's house 6 months ago.  They KEPT him because he knows how to work cattle (did she say "catch & bay"? Then they turned him in to the Canton Animal Shelter. He is now living in a foster home, just neutered, up on his shots and is heartworm negative.

Red is really calm around people, and he allows us to do anything to him - handle his ears and paws, pick up his food, lean over him.  I have seen no signs of any aggression toward people or dogs. When I baby talk to him, he "faints" - he plops on the floor and rolls over on his back and smiles.  He stretches and wiggles on his back to get his belly rub. He comes to me on his own and puts his head in my lap.  He initiates snuggles if I lay on the floor with him.
